Yellow Fever is a disease caused by the Yellow Fever Virus that is spread through bites by a certain type of mosquito mostly found in parts of Africa and South America. Most infected people do not show symptoms. Those who do experience fever, chills, headache, and generalized body pain. According to the CDC, about 12% of those who have symptoms advance to a more serious illness and experience bleeding, yellowness of eyes, shock, multiple organ failure, and occasionally death.

Since there is no treatment or cure for yellow fever, prevention is the way to go through vaccination. Travelers to and from countries where there is a risk of yellow fever are required to be vaccinated and carry proof for the same to the airports. The yellow fever vaccine side effects

A reaction to the yellow fever vaccine can produce symptoms that can last about 5 to 10 days. They are rarely severe one can experience them without fear of further adverse outcomes which are rare. The side effects include:

  • A mild fever
